Database Administrator – Disaster Management (Remote, US) ICF is seeking a Database Administrator focused on disaster management solutions. The position is 100 % remote within the United States, with occasional travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Install and configure database systems, manage user access and permissions, and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.

Run performance tuning and optimization so databases operate efficiently and meet business needs.

Maintain data integrity and accuracy, keeping systems updated with the latest patches and upgrades.

Document configurations and procedures, contributing to a well‑organized, resilient data environment.

Support state and local governments to administer grant programs, providing tailored guidance on system of records and reporting.

Develop and update SOPs, job aid materials, and training resources that adhere to federal and state regulations.

Provide onsite technical assistance and training to agencies on programmatic systems and procedural requirements.

Deliver financial system and data‑integrity support to promote accurate reporting within federal, state, and local government systems of record.

Maintain a results‑oriented approach to support audit readiness.

Apply advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables) and BI tools such as Power BI.

Collaborate with leads, peers, and clients to review and implement policies, procedures, and best practices.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data analytics and reporting with BI tools (e.g., Power BI).

3+ years of recent experience in reporting, analytics, and database administration.

3+ years of experience writing technical guidance or procedures (SOPs, functional specs).

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas).

Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Public sector experience, especially state or local government working with federal grants.

Experience with CDBG and/or CDBG‑DR/MIT reporting systems.

Familiarity with HUD reporting systems or Texas TIGR reporting.

Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Python, Quickbase, Tableau).

Knowledge of Agile methodology and Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Experience in grant accounting, budgeting, and public accounting.

Experience delivering training and technical assistance.

Compensation Base salary range: $75,000 – $85,000, commensurate with experience and location. The role includes the full‑time ICF benefits package.
