The Personal Banker provides customers with accurate information regarding the Bank’s products and services, handles customer inquiries, and resolves customer complaints. The Personal Banker protects the Bank’s image and contributes positively to the achievement of the Bank’s overall goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and promote cordial relationships with customers, ensuring prompt attendance to inquiries and solving their problems to grant maximum satisfaction. Inform and suggest new banking products to customers. Provide information to customers on their accounts such as balance, account status, and check or payment clearing history. Ensure that all the Bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with in the process of performing duties. Ensure customers’ confidential information is properly protected and only used for official purposes. Improve customers’ banking experience by ensuring prompt attention to their banking challenges and timely resolutions. Conduct effective checking sales presentations that will result in an appropriate account recommendation and requesting the customer’s business. Introduce customers to the Tell-A-Friend program and provide Tell-A-Friend coupons with each customer transaction. Help customers understand their in-person as well as digital banking options, and guide them to the channel that best fits their preferences. Expand technology penetration of retail and business clients by proactively using the customer convenience channels offered by First Community Bank. Open new accounts and service existing accounts following operational procedures and ensure required documentation is received and archived at account opening. Ensure deposit exceptions are minimal and addressed quickly to reduce risk of account closure due to documentation issues. Make qualified referrals to banking partners such as Wealth, Insurance, Mortgage, Commercial, and Treasury Services. Perform branch operational duties as assigned by Branch Manager, in accordance with operational procedures. Participate in marketing and awareness campaigns to grow the customer base. Consult customers on consumer loan options, explain terms, process consumer loan applications with accuracy, discuss debt ratios and consumer reports, and ensure proper loan documentation is received for consumer non-real estate loans. Serve as Teller, maintaining a cash drawer, accepting deposits, cashing checks, processing cash advances and loan payments, and other teller transactions accurately and courteously while adhering to regulatory and operational procedures. Complete required training within the expected timeframes. In some markets, may handle cash vault duties including end-of-day balancing, currency logs, and related close-out tasks, plus currency shipments and orders. Enter teller outages into the workflow system and ensure balance with the general ledger. Review and add notes to teller over/short reports and ensure outages are cleared. Support the Bank’s mission, vision, values, and standards of conduct by performing duties to the fullest extent possible.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent One to five years of banking experience Effective listening skills with the ability to understand and respond appropriately Patient and willing to help others while maintaining a positive attitude Proven record of outstanding customer service Proficiency with banking platforms and common office software Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence people Strong attention to detail Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods Ability to travel, as needed
Salary: $15.82 - $21.40/hour - Salary Grade 3
