ECU Department of Research, Economic Development and Engagement is currently seeking a Graduate Assistant. The Small Business and Technology Development Center (www.sbtdc.org) is a UNC-System program that provides management counseling and training to businesses across NC. The ECU office serves 12 eastern NC counties. SBTDC’s student engagement allows graduate business students or undergraduate students planning on pursuing a graduate degree, the opportunity to work on real business issues and supplement what they have learned in the classroom. ECU’s MBA / MSA /Business students are an integral component of our organization. Our graduate assistants are coached by our professional business advisors. Graduate assistants assist our business advisors and clients with the following: Review and analyze business plans and provide feedback in writing and in one-on-one meetings with prospective and existing business owners Review and analyze marketing plans Assist businesses with social media strategies and website reviews Assist in preparing financial forecasts Prepare financial analysis Assist with market and industry research including industry trends and competitive analysis Research sources of funding for new and existing businesses Assist with special projects as needed Students must be skilled in using Excel.
