Position Summary
The Safety Supervisor supports Ackerman Plumbing’s commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards across all job sites and facilities. This position oversees daily field safety practices, conducts inspections and training, and ensures compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations. The Safety Supervisor plays a hands-on role in promoting a proactive, safety-first culture while working closely with field teams, superintendents, and project managers at multiple job sites throughout Florida. Site Safety Oversight: Conduct routine site inspections at multiple job locations to identify and correct unsafe behaviors or conditions; verify proper use of PPE, fall protection, ladders, scaffolds, and confined space procedures; partner with superintendents and field leaders to implement and enforce safety standards. Training & Orientation: Lead safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors; conduct regular toolbox talks and safety refreshers on topics including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and equipment operation; assist in maintaining up-to-date employee training and certification records. Incident Investigation & Reporting: Respond promptly to incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; assist with root cause analysis and corrective action plans; maintain accurate safety documentation and submit reports to management as required. Compliance & Communication: Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and Ackerman Plumbing safety policies; communicate safety expectations and updates clearly across all field teams; liaise with project managers, foremen, and office staff to coordinate safety initiatives. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for hazard reduction and process improvement; support the Safety Manager in implementing company-wide safety initiatives; promote engagement and accountability in all safety efforts. Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred Experience: 2–4 years of experience in construction safety supervision, preferably in commercial or industrial environments Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required); First Aid/CPR certification (required); OSHA 510/500 or CHST certification (preferred) Skills: Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to lead safety meetings and engage field personnel; Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; Ability to travel to multiple job sites across Florida What We Offer
