Base pay range: $16.19/hr - $19.92/hr Summary The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that supports 200 staff across 30 Early Childhood and School Time programs. We’re hiring infant, toddler, and preschool associate teachers for the brand-new Rowe Family Early Learning Center in Penacook, at the Penacook Community Center. This role involves upholding and implementing the BGCCNNH mission, supporting children and teachers, and ensuring health and safety. Responsibilities include actively engaging with children, assisting with cleaning and organizing the classroom, and documenting child observations. Candidates should show interest in learning about child development and health and safety practices. We have openings in infant and toddler classrooms. Duties Prepare Youth for Success: Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes. Respond to the interests, requests, and needs of individual children; interact positively; encourage exploration; use positive guidance strategies. Provide guidance and role modeling by planning and outlining curriculum to meet the needs of youth with an emergent curriculum. Establish and maintain program goals to ensure health and safety of all members. Support evaluation of programs, track outcome metrics, and ensure activities address member needs and diversity. Use child observation notes for curriculum planning and maintain accurate records. Maintain awareness of all members in the assigned group. Oversee implementation of NAEYC standards and GSQ (when applicable), Culture DNA code, BGCCNNH and CCLU policies regarding safety and compliance. Dispense medications per policy; administer first aid as needed; communicate occurrences to families. Oversee and assist in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining classroom well-being. Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision Maintain proper record-keeping and weekly reporting in membership/finance systems; provide data to Center Director or relevant staff. Facilitate open, professional verbal and written communication with families, staff, and children. Supervise classroom staff, students, and volunteers; provide regular feedback on performance. Support volunteers and practicum students through modeling techniques that connect theory to practice. May lead planning meetings with the teaching team. May increase program visibility through daily schedule postings and announcements via various channels. Other duties as assigned. Relationships Internal: Maintains daily contact with Club staff, members, and supervisors to exchange information and provide guidance. External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, and families to resolve issues as needed. Requirements Must be an associate teacher qualified before November 6, 2017, have a minimum of 9 related credits or 1000 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed program, and knowledge of child growth and development through one of the following: a) completion of a high school 2-year career and technical course in teacher education; b) a 3-credit college course in child or human growth and development; c) 30 hours of training in child growth and development from an accredited source or equivalent life experience with related work. Must be 18 years or older. Knowledge of current teaching methods, principles, and techniques; knowledge of curriculum development and application. Ability to plan and implement quality programs; proven creative and artistic teaching strategies. Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children and promote positive behavior. Ability to motivate members and manage behavior with patience. Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. Ability to communicate with staff, families, and community members in various methods. Willingness to maintain Club dress code and adapt to different learning styles. Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications per licensing requirements. May be required to drive the Club van/short bus; safe driving record required. Must assist in cleaning and organizing the Club; maintain confidentiality. Must be willing to travel between locations as requested (occasional).
