Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist

North Plainfield, NJ

Full-Time | Permanent
LHH is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to support the collections process for a growing company in North Plainfield, New Jersey. This role is vital in ensuring timely receipt of payments, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent service to clientele. The ideal candidate will work closely with both the management and accounting teams to help optimize cash flow and minimize delinquencies.
Key Responsibilities
Collections Support:
Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
Tenant Communication:
Reach out to clients via phone, email, and written correspondence to address overdue or upcoming payments.
Payment Processing:
Accurately record and apply payments in the accounting system.
Issue Resolution:
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and client disputes in a timely, professional manner.
Reporting:
Maintain accurate collection activity records and assist with preparing aging and status reports.
Documentation:
Ensure all communications and actions are properly logged in the system.
Compliance:
Adhere to all laws and company policies related to collections.
Team Collaboration:
Partner with management and accounting teams to ensure accurate client account tracking.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in
accounts receivable or collections .
Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
