Post-Doctoral Fellow in Chemistry and Chemical Biology (Myers Lab) We are seeking motivated, bright scientists to join our antibiotics drug discovery and development team in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University (Andrew G. Myers Research Group).

Responsibilities

Prepare antibiotic compounds from milligram to gram scale using state-of-the-art organic synthesis and technology. Independently design and execute multi-step synthetic routes from milligram to multi-gram scale. Develop new synthetic methods for the synthesis of antibiotic compounds. Design antibiotic compounds and evaluate their biological activity.

Publish and present research findings in high-quality scientific journals and conferences.

Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students on interdisciplinary research projects.

Contribute to the preparation of research proposals.

Participate in teaching and mentoring activities for undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in organic chemistry is preferred.

Meaningful hands‑on laboratory experience in an academic or industrial setting.

Expertise in preparative organic chemistry and synthetic methods.

Strong knowledge of heterocyclic synthesis and scalable synthesis.

Ability to think critically and communicate effectively, design and execute experiments independently, and learn new techniques quickly.

Effective writing skills for maintaining a detailed laboratory notebook and for providing periodic research reports.

Salary Range $67,600‑$80,000
