Department Information
The History and Philosophy Department prepares students for adaptable, fulfilling careers by teaching transferable knowledge and skills through research, analysis, and clear articulation of conclusions. Students study societies, cultures, and economies across a broad chronological and geographical spectrum to become global citizens, problem solvers, and effective communicators.
With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,100 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences focuses on workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences. The College offers more than 80 programs of study. We seek candidates whose experience will help fulfill our commitment to student, faculty, staff, and community success.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of History in the Department of History and Philosophy with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Teach general education undergraduate courses in history Participation in department and campus activities Faculty are expected to teach courses of variable sizes and modalities, including large class sizes
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
A terminal degree, or foreign equivalent, in history or a related field is required at the time of hire. Record of teaching undergraduate students in history
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching in different modalities, such as online or hybrid courses Record of past teaching survey courses in world history Effectiveness in teaching different course sizes, including large classes
