Wyman-Gordon, Pennsylvania, a division of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC), is a manufacturing leader producing flash‑welded and cold‑rolled near‑net‑shaped rings for the aerospace industry. We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic Safety Specialist with multi‑site responsibilities. Facilities include PCC Wyman Gordon (Mountaintop) and Tru‑Form (Wilkes‑Barre). The Safety Specialist will be responsible for communicating and implementing safety and environmental compliance programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for all facilities. The Safety Specialist will report to the EHS Director. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Supports the PCC/Wyman Gordon EH&S program at the Mountaintop and Tru‑Form facilities. Develops and implements EHS‑related programs and policies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Recommends, develops and implements improvements in policies, procedures, and equipment to prevent incidents and injuries. Tracks and reports EHS corrective actions from incident investigations and external evaluations; manages corrective actions in impacted departments. Responsible for recordkeeping and reporting requirements under permitted environmental processes. Inspects facility processes to detect existing or potential environmental, safety, and health hazards; determines corrective or preventive measures and ensures implementation. Provides and directs EHS training and annual compliance auditing. Manages the 6S Program for the plants, supporting continuous improvement and integrating EH&S thinking into new standards and procedures. Provides sustainability data collection/preparation. Assists with all environmental related legal matters, regulatory agency contacts, permitting, and enforcement actions. Coordinates all facility emergency response and site evacuation programs. Assists in the management and correction of EHS aspects of industrial engineering projects, maintenance projects, and other plant EHS risk reduction issues. Assists with Worker’s Compensation processes and claims. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the corporation, and the community. Provides 24‑hour on‑call response for medical and environmental emergencies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a comparable field. Minimum 2 years of environment, health, and safety experience within a manufacturing environment. Professional knowledge of federal and state standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT) for a manufacturing environment. Experience with regulatory filing and reporting. Experience deploying and/or developing effective training programs. The Following Skills Are Desirable
Demonstrated ability to research specific compliance and regulatory requirements. Strong project management skills. High detail orientation, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Ability to work with cross‑functional groups. Ability to develop, train, and implement continuous improvement programs. Energetic, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees—production to executive. Solid understanding of safety and environmental engineering principles applicable to the company’s operations.
