Overview
Part-time Education Specialist for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. The Education Specialist oversees all Academic Success (Education and Arts) programs at their assigned Clubhouse(s), including planning, development, reporting, and implementation in collaboration with the Programs team. The role may serve as acting Clubhouse supervisor in the absence of the Clubhouse Director and Assistant Clubhouse Director. Responsibilities
Lead and teach new skills. Develop and deliver programming to youth members aged 6-18. Serve youth and create positive, supportive relationships with youth, families, Club staff, and partners. Think on your feet, learn new things, adapt quickly to changes, and maintain productivity. Commit to continuous improvement and seek the best ways to get things done. Oversee all Academic Success (Education and Arts) programs at the Clubhouse(s) including planning, development, reporting, and implementation in collaboration with the Programs team; assist with other operational functions of the Clubhouse; may serve as acting supervisor in the absence of leadership. Maintain a fun, energetic, and engaging Club environment. Qualifications / Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization working with youth in an education and/or art setting. Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.). Ability to work with multi-age groups of children and manage both small and large groups in activities and free play. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple demands. Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to interact professionally with the public, families, Youth Development Professionals, and members. Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for the safety, well-being, and output of others. Strong communication skills. Hours & Compensation
Hours: 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM (hours are flexible). Compensation: $17.00–$19.00 per hour. Drug testing and fingerprint-based background checks are required as conditions of employment. An Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace. Application & Required Steps
