Join Our Team as a Human Resources Generalist
At Lakeside Book Company, we believe in building a workplace where people thrive. As an HR Generalist, you'll be a key partner supporting our employees and leaders while fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and care.
What You'll Do:
Support HR efforts across employee relations, staffing, safety, and training for your assigned locations
Provide guidance to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
Champion our Open Door Policy by supporting proactive communication and conflict resolution
Help lead and support training initiatives, new hire orientation, and leadership development
Manage personnel files and HR system updates while ensuring compliance with employment laws
Support benefits education and guide employees through questions and enrollment
Partner with safety and workers' compensation teams to ensure timely claim resolution
Contribute to HR programs that drive employee engagement, recognition, and development
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of HR experience (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with a people‑first approach
Confidence handling sensitive matters and navigating employee relations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn HR systems
Knowledge of employment laws, safety practices, and compliance standards
A team mindset with the ability to influence, guide, and collaborate effectively
