Verify and perform calculations and analyses including but not limited to: Cash flow Actual to forecast and historical period variance analysis Depreciations (book) Projections/forecasts Allocations Compile, verify, and prepare a variety of financial information including but not limited to: Actual to forecast and historical period variance analysis Governmental/regulatory reports/audit reports Invoice Reconciliation Accounting reports Quarterly income statements Gas Accounting (applicable to Gas Supply Accountant) Data base report reconciliation and closing Provide information and assistance to employees from governmental and regulatory agencies, auditing firms, management, and others concerning accounting processes and various financial reports. Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Regulatory Requirements. Make recommendations to improve departmental job, processes and procedures Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job. Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications
What You Will Need Preferred Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or other related field Experience with and knowledge of generally accepted accounting methods and procedures Experience performing accounting activities such as financial accounting, property accounting, account classification, or gas accounting Experience with application of math, algebra, and statistical methods Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software Experience and/or training related to Microsoft suite, database software application Financial accounting and reporting standards and processes Economic forecasting/modeling and corporate budget functions Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact well with others Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, studies, and correspondence Experience reading and interpreting company correspondence, reports, accounting-related publications Experience collaborating, advising, and communicating effectively with internal and external customers Demonstrated ability to develop and present information to individuals and groups Read and write fluently in English Mobility to travel in and around office facilities system wide Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities Able to communicate and exchange information or verbal instructions and conduct oral presentations What You Will Do
