Financial Analyst - Merchandising

Circle K . The role focuses on data-driven merchandising and analytical support to enable data-driven decision making across pricing, promotions, assortment, and performance analysis. Responsibilities
Demonstrate thought leadership and act as an ambassador to Data Driven Merchandising initiatives. Analyze merchandise performance at department, cluster, vendor, item, and location level, including store, regional, and business unit performance of pricing, promotion, and item assortment metrics. Support MAM in documenting BU level strategic decisions around pricing, promotions, and assortment. Leverage tools and reporting to provide timely insights on BU merchandise performance to facilitate data-driven decision making. Organize, summarize, and visualize data into meaningful insights that communicate complex findings to non-analytical peers. Mechanize driving insights into actions by working with cross-functional partners to identify gaps and recommend improvements to existing DDM tools and processes. Use technical expertise to conceptualize and develop new, reusable tools, models, and approaches to provide partners with insights to meet business goals. Actively support MAM on the annual DDM planning process for the business unit and participate in the Global Analytical network on data and analytics issues. All other duties as assigned to achieve operational excellence in the business unit. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reading publications, networking, and participating in professional societies. Contribute to the team effort by achieving defined Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan guidelines. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or related field, followed by 2+ years of data analysis experience. Computer skills including navigational ability in a networked environment and proficiency in Microsoft Word and email applications. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and data visualization platforms (PowerBI, Tableau). Experience with SQL is a plus. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize projects and tasks. Strong analytical abilities, logical reasoning, data interpretation, and ability to resolve complex issues. Experience working with individuals from different organizational functions and at different levels. Retail experience is an asset. Physical Requirements
