Our law firm has an opening for a law clerk, and we are looking for a driven individual with a desire to learn to join our team. You’ll get hands‑on experience conducting legal research and preparing memoranda, which will confirm or deny the citations in an attorney’s legal brief in order to get ready for trial.
You’ll also prepare subpoenas and motions, docket deadlines, and learn about filing requirements for both circuit and federal courts. Responsibilities
You must have prior experience in a law firm or clinic, prior clinic experience in constitutional law, and the First Amendment is highly valued in our firm Outline the first iteration of legal documents for attorney review, especially pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses Conduct legal research to confirm cited legal authority for judges and attorneys Create legal memoranda outlining results of research to help plan the best strategy for success for court proceedings Qualifications
Exhibit strong work ethic and attention to detail Current law school student with a bachelor’s degree or recent law school graduate Plan to take or have already passed state bar exam One to two years of work experience in a legal environment Excellent writing skills and communication skills to participate in oral arguments effectively Compensation
$20 - $35 hourly We are a growing and dynamic firm practicing cutting‑edge Social Media Law, Constitutional Law, Internet Defamation, Personal Injury, and Employment. Our successful candidate will have a passion for all things related to the First Amendment and defamation. The ability to write well is highly valued, as is prior experience in a law firm.
