Job Summary Security Project Specialist III

– Brady Integrated Security is seeking an experienced professional to manage the installation of mid‑size to large, complex security systems across North Carolina. The role involves overseeing wiring, programming, and integration of access control, video surveillance, intercom, and intrusion detection systems for both on‑site and cloud‑based solutions. The specialist will collaborate with customer IT personnel, coordinate network integration, and mentor junior installers.

Responsibilities

Mentor and develop installers assigned to the team who have less knowledge and experience.

Interface with customer personnel to develop relationships; provide training as needed.

Use technical manuals and manufacturer support to troubleshoot problems.

Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors of varied material types.

Wire installations in compliance with NEC 70, including horizontal and vertical EMT/ENT conduit.

Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls; position and terminate cables, wires and strapping.

Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.

Inspect installation sites and review work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.

Use test equipment such as multimeter, cable tester, and toner to test and repair circuits and sensors.

Turnkey installation of mid‑size to large complex systems for access control, CCTV, intercom, intrusion, and fire alarm following architectural drawings of electrical layouts and building plans under Division 28.

Read and understand Division 28 construction documents to determine installation methods and requirements; attend job‑site meetings as necessary.

Provide daily and weekly reports to Brady management.

Other duties and responsibilities as required to support the needs of the business.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and recommended best practices.

Collaborate with all associates to uphold the company’s mission and values.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

3+ years of maintenance or installation experience in security systems or a related field.

Knowledge of networking LAN, WAN, and mesh devices; familiarity with IPv4, IPv6, MAC addresses, and server interaction.

Experience configuring network devices, including unmanaged PoE switches and managed switches in collaboration with customer IT departments.

Proficiency with core software platforms: CCTV: Exacq, Milestone, Video Insight, Avigilon, or similar.

Access Control: OpenOptions, Software House, Amag, S2, Kantech, Brivo, or similar.

Fire Alarm: Firelite, Vigilant, EST, Simplex, Autocall, or similar.

Proficiency with computer devices (including smartphones); working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Apple iOS software.

Valid driver’s license.

Active North Carolina Alarm Registrant within 30 days of hire.

OSHA 30 certification.

At least two current manufacturer certifications in access control.

At least one current manufacturer certification in CCTV systems.

Successful background check for North Carolina State Alarm Licensing.

Successful drug screening.

Proof of U.S. employment eligibility.

Physical Demands & Environmental Exposure

Occasional sitting; frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing; constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping.

Material handling demands include lifting up to 50 lbs. overhead, and frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., classified as Medium Heavy Physical Demand.

Ability to carry, set up, and work off A‑frame and extension ladders.

Must be able to talk and hear.

Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and potential extreme weather conditions.

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, electrical equipment, and wiring; wet/humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather; high voltage; vibration; and occasional loud noise.

Work Hours Monday through Friday, with periodic on‑call basis, overtime, and weekend assignments as required.
