Job Title Mt. Edgecumbe High School located in Sitka is looking for a Dormitory Attendant.

Location & Eligibility This position is open to Alaskan Residents only. Please check the residency definition to determine if you qualify.

Responsibilities This position involves monitoring students during school hours to ensure safety and proper use of facilities. After events, you will secure the campus by turning off lights, locking doors, and cleaning the areas. You will interact with community members to prevent unauthorized individuals from staying on campus. You will also schedule and supervise after‑school activities, manage concessions, vending machines, the snack program, and sauna access. Responsibilities include administering first aid, writing accident and maintenance reports, transporting students to various locations, including hospitals, helping students adjust to boarding school life, building their self‑esteem, and providing ongoing maintenance of recreation items, such as bicycles, weight machines, cardio equipment, vehicle checks, sauna care, and after‑hours maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience working with teenagers.

Experience working with members of the community.

Two years of paid work experience, at least one year dealing with the public.

College education may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Special Notes About the Position

Valid driver’s license is required.

First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to become certified is required.

Must be able to pass a fingerprint based background check per AS 47.32.101 and 7 AAC 10.900.
