You can review the additional job description section on postings for documents that may be required.* Prior to submitting your application, please review and update (if necessary) the information in your candidate profile as it will transfer to your application.## Job Title:Post Doctoral Scholar - Comprehensive Cancer Center## Department:Medicine | School Biomedical Sciences Molecular Medicine and TherapeuticsThe **Post Doctoral Scholar** will pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of scientific mentor Dr. Liping Yang () at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Ohio State University.Post Doctoral Scholar conducts research to dissect the mechanisms driving the transformation of immunosuppressive cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME), identify and characterize novel factors that contribute to the immunosuppressive landscape, and engineer targeted therapeutics to modulate the TME for safer and more effective cancer treatment. These will include the use of biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, proteomics, animal modeling and mouse genetics, translational medicine, and/or the use of human tumor models of solid tumors (e.g. breast cancer, colon cancer, neuroblastoma). Participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions; trains staff in molecular biology techniques and general laboratory skills; assists PI with grant proposals to obtain outside funding from state and federal agencies; participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions.**Education/Experience Required*** A Doctoral degree (within 3 years) in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field; extensive experience in a research capacity required.* Strong background in immunology, cell biology, or cancer research* Experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques* Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills* First-author publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals preferred* Experience with CRISPR-based functional screening is a strong plus**Application Requirements**Please send a single PDF file including:* A cover letter summarizing your research interests and career goals.* Your CV Contact information for 2–3 referencesPlease email any inquiries to:Dr. Liping Yang: LIPING.YANG@osumc.edu## Additional Information:## Location:Pelotonia Research Center (1040)## Position Type:Term (Fixed Term)## Scheduled Hours:40## **Shift:**Varying Shifts***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
