Location Note:
Coleman Aerospace produces complex launch vehicles to support ballistic missile defense testing.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, and operate telemetry systems used for the collection of launch vehicle data during ground testing and flight.
Support data post-processing and maintain reduction tools developed by Coleman, written in C/C++.
Develop telemetry displays based on the needs of real-time data reviewers for each mission.
Work under general direction, determine methods and approaches, and plan schedules to accomplish objectives. Completed work is reviewed to ensure objectives are met for desired results.
Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience; graduate degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum 10 years of related experience. Requires strong knowledge of job area.
Preferred Additional Skills
Experience with complex telemetry systems including encoders, transmitters, encrypters, decryptors, and decommutators.
Ability to implement telemetry PCM encoder and decommutator databases.
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams for troubleshooting and understand data flow within a telemetry system.
Experience in RF transmit subsystems and components for setup of telemetry transmitters, antennas, cabling, and test equipment.
Experience in telemetry RF path characteristics and mission planning considerations.
Experience in receiving system characteristics for radiated telemetry data.
Working knowledge of antennas, feeds, filters, RF signal distribution, receivers and combiners.
Familiar with oscilloscopes and testing equipment including network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
Familiarity with PCM and similar technologies.
Experience reading, understanding, and writing C/C++ code.
Ability to obtain FAA Class III medical certificate and meet USAF aerospace standards, including training and participation in launch operations aboard USAF aircraft.
Experience in writing/maintaining object oriented C/C++ code for data reduction and post-processing.
Experience with Range Commander's Council (RCC) requirements.
Experience in operating and troubleshooting RF systems.
