Job Description The Metamorphosis Group, Inc, TMG, has an immediate opening for a Linux System Administrator who will maintain, schedule, and execute software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations; identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues with workstations and servers; and provide continuous system monitoring.

Responsibilities Full‑time Linux System Administrators are required to create and maintain detailed documentation, participate in group collaboration and project planning, and effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels within the organization. Responsibilities also include supporting a second shift schedule (Monday‑Friday; 1200‑2000 or 1300‑2100) with occasional off‑hour support; proactively monitoring network devices, services, and servers; collecting and reviewing network data; interacting with vendors and service providers; and providing end‑user support and resolutions. The contractor must maintain detailed network documentation for configuration management.

Mandatory Skills

Demonstrated experience with Windows domain setup, group policy, and user account administration.

Demonstrated experience with Linux administration, including troubleshooting network, local storage, and programs/utilities issues.

Demonstrated working understanding of IPtables, tcpdump, and OpenVPN.

Demonstrated experience with virtualization using vSphere (vCenter/ESXi hosts).

Demonstrated experience troubleshooting virtual machine/operating systems in virtual environments.

Demonstrated experience creating, updating, and executing basic scripting with batch, PowerShell, BASH, and Python.

Demonstrated experience with cloud service providers and administration (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Demonstrated experience with automation tools such as Ansible and CloudFormation.

Demonstrated experience with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment focused on maintenance and upgrades.

Demonstrated experience with the OSI model, particularly Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies such as VLANs, port security, 802.1Q, IP subnets, IP routing, VRF, and BGP.

Demonstrated experience with network security, using IPSEC and Open VPN tunneling.

Demonstrated experience maintaining Access Control Lists and zone‑based firewalls.

Demonstrated experience with network monitoring tools such as Whatsup Gold, SolarWinds, etc.

Demonstrated experience in Network Administration focused on operational/mission‑specific networks.

Experience using tools or software including AWS/C2S, VMWare, CloudFormation, WSUS, Python, Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, vSphere, and Ubuntu.

Optional Skills

RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) experience.

Hands‑on experience and qualifications as an AWS Solutions Architect.

Experience with A+/N+/Security+.

Experience with Linux, PKI certificate tools and libraries, and DevOps practices.

Understanding of Ubuntu versions 14/16.

Certification as a RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).

Security certifications such as Cisco CCNA‑Security, other CCNA, or CISSP.

Juniper certifications (e.g., JNCIA‑SEC or other JNCIA).
