Job Description The Dallas Morning News is seeking a hard-charging, driven reporter to cover one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing real estate markets in the country.
This reporter will be part of a two-person real estate team covering a metropolitan area of more than 8 million people that is stretching its boundaries every day. We are searching for a high-energy, scoop-oriented reporter to dig into public records, develop a deep sourcebook, disseminate data and synthesize emerging trends. We need someone who can write several stories a day and balance those with hard-hitting, thought-provoking enterprise pieces.
Dallas-Fort Worth residents have a voracious appetite for real estate news, with a deep interest in subjects ranging from residential home sale trends to commercial projects. Real estate coverage perennially leads our newsroom in digital subscriptions, giving your work the attention and audience it deserves.
North Texas is home to some of the nation’s largest homebuilders and most affluent neighborhoods, along with developers and billionaires working on ambitious commercial projects, property deals and leases. More than 20 Fortune 500 companies have headquarters here, including D.R. Horton, Jacobs, Fluor, CBRE, American Airlines, Charles Schwab, Southwest Airlines, McKesson, AT&T and more.
The News is rapidly expanding its Business team to produce the most dominant, distinctive coverage in Texas with robust digital storytelling, the new “Commerce Street” LinkedIn newsletter and a reimagined Business Sunday section in print and ePaper.
