Responsible for the supervision of the histology laboratory and administrative assistant personnel. Responsible for training new personnel. Responsible for performance evaluations in lead area. Responsible for development of new procedures and evaluation of new equipment and reagents. Recognizes abnormal results, troubleshoots instrument problems and recognizes quality control problems. Routinely reviews slides with pathologist. Duties also include logging in, labeling and processing specimens, embedding, paraffin microtomy, cryostat microtomy, non-gynecological specimen processing, staining of slides, performing special stains and performing gross description of small biopsies according to protocol. Education
Associates Degree, HT (ASCP) or eligible. Bachelors Degree, HTL (ASCP) or eligible. MLS (ASCP) with successful completion of Histotechnology training course and HTL (ASCP) certification within two years of hire. Experience
5 years Relocation
