Job Details Your Role
As our Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations. Your expertise will ensure that our financial operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory financial standards.
Monitor and enforce internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing accurate and timely financial statements.
Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
Oversee the physical inventory process at both the stores and the warehouses, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring internal controls and consistency.
Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (CPA or equivalent certification required).
At least 10 years of experience in financial management or accounting, including 5+ years as a Controller or in a similar leadership position.
Large scale ASC 842 accounting experience for private companies is required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proven experience in general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close, and preparation of financial statements.
Experience with purchase accounting is preferred.
Leadership experience with the ability to manage a team and collaborate with other departments.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (experience with Storis a plus).
Knowledge of IRS partnership accounting is a plus.
