Monday to Friday 8 am – 5 pm; project and/or on-call extended hours may be required.
Responsibilities
Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining PLC-based control systems within biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions, support process improvements, and ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as GxP and cGMP.
Design and program PLC control systems for manufacturing automation.
Troubleshoot and optimize automated systems to improve performance.
Ensure compliance with GxP, cGMP, and other regulatory standards.
Collaborate with process, quality, and engineering teams to implement automation solutions.
Support validation and documentation efforts for automated systems.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent experience.
6 years’ experience in Automation in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Experience with PLC programming in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Strong understanding of GxP, cGMP, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of design, specification and implementation of software and/or hardware systems.
Understanding of controls architecture and networking (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet) and process controls.
Understand industrial electrical control systems, servos, inverters, machine and systems architecture and troubleshooting of equipment.
Knowledge of Automation Systems, Mechanical Processes, and Process Control Systems.
Must possess at least an entry level proficiency in Software Development – PLC programming, IO Configuration, HMI programming and computer communication systems and network protocols.
Basic knowledge and/or a basic level of proficiency on some or any of the following software platforms:
Rockwell Automation – RSLogix5, 500, 5000, RS View, Factory-Talk SE/ME, RS Batch.
Aveva (Wonderware) – System Platform, InTouch HMI, InBatch.
Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Windows Server, Terminal server, Thin Client computing, MS Office, SQL, SQL Reports, Ethernet networks, Routing, VPN, Remote access
Knowledge of Alarm Management, Data Historian, OEE.
Proficient knowledge of computer system life cycle concepts and FDA regulatory requirements, including 21 CFR Part 11.
Fully fluent in English.
Compensation Competitive market compensation will be based on experience.
