PCU RN Job Details Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs) Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date: November 2, 2025 End Date: February 1, 2026 Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (12-hour day shifts) Hours per Week: 36 hours Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 - $1800 Employment Type: Travel RN, W2 Unit: Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC), 40-bed stepdown unit Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule Floating: May float to other stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for travel nursing jobs) Current ACLS and BLS certifications At least 1 year of recent stepdown or progressive care nursing experience Telemetry experience required Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills Excellent critical thinking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment Preferred: Experience with cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patient populations (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) Preferred: CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience PCU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, as well as medical cardiology patients Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs; respond promptly to changes in patient condition Manage chest tubes, epidurals, tube feedings, and IV medications (including cardiac drips: phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR Participate in unit-based initiatives to promote patient safety and quality improvement Float to other clinical units as needed, maintaining flexibility and professionalism Take the next step in your nursing career—apply now for this travel PCU RN job in Asheville, NC, and join a supportive healthcare team dedicated to excellence in patient care!
