About GovSignals

We are shaping the future of government contracting with breakthrough AI‑driven solutions. We are disrupting a multi-billion-dollar industry and enabling private‑sector technologies to secure government contracts faster than ever, strengthening national security and driving economic growth. GovSignals has built the most advanced government‑contracting AI platform available. From small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises, our platform multiplies the opportunities contractors can pursue and empowers them to deliver fully compliant, winning proposals in hours instead of months. As one of the largest aggregators of U.S. government data, we set trends rather than follow them. The Role: Platform Engineer

As a

Backend Engineer , you will work directly with the CTO to scale our Kubernetes-based AWS infrastructure and edge runtime Cloudflare infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineering leadership to architect, build, and operate high-performance backend systems — from Cloudflare Workers at the edge to modern containerized services running in secure clusters. Your work will accelerate DevX for our Product Engineers and ensure compliance posture and customer trust. Key Responsibilities:

Architect and ship backend services and APIs, including Cloudflare Workers written in TypeScript for real-time data ingestion, routing, and security at the edge.

Operate and scale Kubernetes on EKS by designing, hardening, and expanding our multi‑cluster AWS environment for high‑throughput AI and data workloads.

Leverage and extend modern PaaS tools, self-hosting open-source equivalents where needed for control or compliance.

Build reusable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Helm, and more that deliver both code and infrastructure safely and repeatably.

Integrate and manage our Postgres data layer for storage, row‑level security, and authentication workflows across internal and customer‑facing applications.

Instrument systems with Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, and distributed tracing through OpenTelemetry and Tempo to achieve 99.99 percent uptime and clear SLOs.

Champion DevSecOps best practices, including automated testing, vulnerability scanning, secret management, and compliance readiness (FedRAMP, NIST).

Partner with the broader engineering team and product to plan capacity, refine SLAs, and accelerate DevX (Developer Experience) for our product engineers.

Qualifications:

Two or more years running production Kubernetes or EKS environments at scale.

Expertise with Docker and container fundamentals.

Experience authoring Terraform‑driven AWS infrastructure.

Proficient in TypeScript or Javascript and comfortable working with Cloudflare Workers, Node services, and related tooling.

CI/CD and GitOps background using GitHub Actions and automated testing.

Experience with observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager.

Bonus experience with Open Source contributions:

Zero Trust networking, Postgres performance tuning, FedRAMP High, NIST 800‑171, or CMMC Level 2, FinOps cost-optimization, and AI tooling for DevX.
