HDR currently seeks a Site Civil Design Lead with the technical skills and desire to support our nationally recognized Building Engineering Services Group in Dallas, TX. The role involves core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. This individual will contribute to the design of facility related sites in support of a variety of markets including Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Municipal, Civic, Industrial, and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. The candidate should be self‑motivated, collaborative, and possess strong communication skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound designs.

Responsibilities

Lead site due diligence, including zoning and land development permitting requirements for local and state agencies.

Lead design and plan production for site development projects (layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, site utilities, etc.).

Perform site civil engineering calculations and generate associated calculation reports.

Prepare specifications and contract documents.

Obtain permits associated with land development projects.

Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures.

Lead, delegate tasks to, and mentor other site civil engineering professionals and technicians while working together on projects.

Lead site design coordination with clients, local and state agencies, and the project team (project managers, engineers, designers, etc.).

Thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Embrace continuous learning and professional growth in site civil design.

Communicate effectively with managers and team members.

Mentor junior staff and delegate appropriate tasks.

Manage your time and organization of multiple tasks/projects.

Perform other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

6 years of experience in site civil engineering (land development).

Proficient and demonstrated applied experience with CAD software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and specialty site civil engineering software (e.g., HydroCAD, Autodesk Hydraflow Extensions, etc.) as required.

Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam Revu.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects.

Professional Engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).

Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
