Base pay starts at $26 to $28 per hour
1st Shift:7AM-3:30PM Monday-Friday
Responsibilities The Extrusion Inventory & Raw Materials Team Lead will oversee and coordinate the flow, accuracy, and management of raw materials and inventory within the extrusion department. This includes ensuring the extrusion line has the necessary materials on time, managing inventory accuracy, controlling scrap and losses, and leading a small team of inventory/materials handlers. The role serves as a key liaison between extrusion operations, quality, supply chain, purchasing, and shipping/receiving.
Ensure raw materials are available and inventory locations are organized, accurate, and optimized for efficient material flow to the extrusion lines.
Monitor and maintain raw material and WIP inventory levels; communicate potential stock-outs or excesses to purchasing and planning.
Maintain high inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, variance reconciliation, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with extrusion operations, production supervisors, planning, purchasing, quality, and logistics to coordinate material flow, resolve bottlenecks, manage changeovers, and support new product launches.
Support scrap reduction and material loss initiatives by tracking usage, scrap rates, and idle materials to meet or exceed site targets.
Implement and sustain 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement practices to enhance organization, efficiency, and safety.
Maintain accurate ERP inventory records, ensuring timely and correct material transactions, and continuously improve BOM, scrap, and backflush accuracy.
Partner with maintenance and engineering during tooling or profile changes to ensure materials and tooling are properly staged for production start-ups.
Track and report KPIs including inventory turns, days on hand, scrap rate, stock-outs, and team productivity.
Promote a safe, organized work environment consistent with company safety standards and best practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
3–5 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or manufacturing (extrusion or plastics preferred).
Prior leadership or team lead experience required.
Proficient in ERP or inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
