Deputy Project Leader
to join a globally dominant specialty electrical contractor on-site in
Manassas, VA
and travelling around the NoVA area. The
Deputy Project Leader
will oversee mission-critical telecom infrastructure projects, including structured cabling, DAS, and OSP/ISP systems while driving schedule, manpower, and profitability across high-value builds.
Responsibilities
Lead Telecom Infrastructure Projects: Oversee design and deployment of integrated systems including fiber optic, structured cabling, DAS, CCTV, and OSP/ISP copper across mission-critical environments
Drive Project Execution & Profitability: Manage budgets, schedules (using CPM methods), manpower, and subcontractors to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of high-value builds
Coordinate Field Operations: Support superintendents and trades personnel with strategic planning, resource allocation, and field documentation
Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a customer-facing lead in meetings, proposals, and issue resolution—ensuring alignment with contract terms and client expectations
Forecast & Monitor Performance: Develop MS Project schedules, forecast cash flow and manpower needs, and maintain positive financial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle
Mentor & Develop Teams: Provide leadership and training to junior project staff, fostering growth and promoting best practices across field and project management teams
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience managing $500K–$10M+ telecom projects, including full lifecycle oversight from bidding to closeout
Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications systems, including fiber optic and structured cabling, DAS, CCTV, and OSP/ISP copper
Proficiency in project scheduling tools and methods, especially Critical Path Method (CPM) using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance
Experience in customer-facing roles, with proven ability to lead meetings, manage subcontractors, and drive project outcomes
Familiarity with construction software tools, such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Accubid, and Microsoft Office; BICSI certification is a plus
Compensation
$100,000 - $130,000 (based on experience)
