Position Summary

Position Summary: Slippery Rock University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) Program is seeking qualified temporary faculty to teach graduate-level social work courses. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are committed to excellence in teaching, student success, and the values of the social work profession. The candidate will teach 2 courses in the Spring 2026 semester. Responsibilities include: Teach assigned graduate-level social work courses in online format in accordance with the program curriculum and accreditation standards Prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging course content in an online format Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback Maintain appropriate student records and participate in faculty meetings as needed Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that reflects the values of diversity, equity, and social justice Hold 2.5 student consultation hours per week Engage in service and scholarship as appropriate to the half-time appointment

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program along with an active social work license (LSW, LCSW, LMSW or equivalent) Minimum of 2 years post-MS W professional social work practice experience, with some experience working with children, youth, and families in clinical or community-based settings, trauma-informed care, and the integration of trauma-informed approaches to practice Prior experience providing education to adult learners Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and ethical practice Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Successful performance in an interview is also required Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in Social Work (DSW or Ph.D.) Prior experience teaching at the graduate level Minimum of 5 years post-MS W professional social work practice experience Prior experience with online course delivery and using an online learning management system Familiarity with CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS)
