The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The RN will assess patients' needs, intervene in life-threatening situations, and implement safety measures to protect both patients and staff. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential. The ED RN will also be required to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities

Provide emergency nursing care to patients in critical condition. Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations. Assess patients' clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs. Ensure safety protocols are followed, including proper use of patient lifting equipment. Function effectively in high-stress situations while demonstrating strong leadership. May assume duties as a charge nurse when required. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Current New York State RN license. BLS and ACLS certifications required. PALS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire. MEDITECH experience required. Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience required. Emergency Department experience preferred. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification required during orientation. Must successfully complete a lethal dysrhythmia exam and be defibrillation certified within the first 6 months of employment.
