Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location: Vero Beach, FL 32960 (Florida healthcare jobs) Unit: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract Start Date: December 9, 2025 End Date: March 10, 2026 Duration: 13-week travel assignment Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460 - $1500 Charting System: EPIC EMR Free Parking: On-site Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted) Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown experience required; 2 years preferred BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification required prior to start (can obtain after offer) EPIC charting experience (proficiency level 3 or 4 preferred) Experience with cardiac drips (no titration required) Nicotine-free (negative nicotine/cotinine screen required) Ability to float to affiliated hospitals within 20 miles First-time travel nurses welcome COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Must pass EKG and Pharm tests during orientation (2 attempts maximum) Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients Monitor and manage cardiac drips and telemetry Interpret and manage dysrhythmias Respond to rapid response/code situations Administer blood products and manage central/peripheral lines Deliver oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR Float to other units as needed to support facility operations Complete onboarding modules in a timely manner Experience the best of Florida’s Treasure Coast while growing your nursing career in a supportive healthcare environment.
