Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties Supervise Technical Services Technicians and oversee plant-wide quality and process control programs. Administer all food safety and quality policies, ensuring compliance with USDA, BRC, and other regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product safety, legality, and quality. Conduct root cause analysis of customer complaints and implement corrective/preventative measures. Oversee chemical and sanitation programs, including validation, verification, and Master Sanitation Schedule management. Lead staff training in HACCP, GMPs, allergen control, and other food safety protocols. Manage retention samples, product reviews, and quality monitoring programs. Support pre-operational inspections, microbiological testing, and test & hold programs. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and vendors to ensure compliance and communication of food safety objectives.
Qualifications – Needed Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum 3 years in food safety or quality assurance. Proficient in MS Office Suite and product reporting systems. Hands-on experience with HACCP, GFSI, GMPs, USDA, and FDA regulations. Proven ability to conduct investigations, data analysis, and risk assessments. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to lead and develop a team. Knowledge of microbiological testing, sanitation systems, and process improvement initiatives.
