Our client, a national retail and distribution company, is seeking a strategic HR leader in the Inland Empire.
Compensation - $200-215k + Bonus + LTI
Location - Must be able to commute in 4-5 days a week to the inland empire, this is an in office role split between multiple DCs. Company will relocate candidates.
Job Responsibilities
Drive enterprise-wide talent strategy by partnering with Operations Leadership and site leadership to align workforce planning, organizational design, and leadership development programs with operational and long-term business goals Serve as a strategic advisor to Operations members, General Managers, and site leaders, offering insight and guidance on complex talent decisions, leadership effectiveness, workforce engagement, and organizational change Partner with Leadership and Talent Acquisition to select, assess, and develop managers and frontline leaders across assigned regions, building a strong talent pipeline and ensuring effective succession planning Lead and inspire a high-performing HR team supporting geographically dispersed sites, providing direction, development, and coaching to HR Business Partners and site-level HR staff to ensure excellence and a consistent employee experience Champion people-centric initiatives across both site-based and corporate teams, ensuring equity in engagement, communication, and performance management for all workforce populations Architect organizational effectiveness solutions, including job design, staffing models, team structures, and workforce optimization strategies that increase agility, productivity, and alignment across the organization Design and deliver employee engagement and retention strategies tailored for diverse employee groups to strengthen morale, connection, and shared purpose Drive cultural transformation efforts by modeling and reinforcing company mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across multi-site environments Oversee complex employee relations matters across multiple locations, including investigations, risk mitigation, legal compliance, and consistency in policy application, in close collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams Advise on critical workforce transitions-including site openings, expansions, closures, reductions in force, and organizational restructures-balancing business requirements with employee impact Lead proactive compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws as well as internal policy frameworks, while monitoring emerging legislation and translating changes into actionable HR practices Perform other duties as assigned Core Competencies
Demonstrated success aligning HR and talent strategies with organizational goals, serving as a trusted advisor to senior and site leaders in driving performance, engagement, retention, and growth Proven expertise in leading large-scale workforce planning and organizational design initiatives in complex, multi-site, multi-state environments, with emphasis on agility, scalability, and business continuity Deep knowledge of federal and multi-state labor law, regulatory frameworks, and high-volume employee relations, with a strong record of resolving complex workforce issues and advising on risk management Skilled in designing and executing engagement, retention, and DEI strategies tailored for both frontline and leadership populations across geographically dispersed teams Strong ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing HR teams embedded across multiple sites, while partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and HR Centers of Excellence to deliver scalable, people-centric solutions Requirements:
Must have a bachelors degree, PHR or SHRM a plus Must have extensive experience leading high performing HR teams in a warehouse, distribution, or even hourly population. Must be comfortable with local travel to warehouses in addition to corporate travel to east coast hub. Must be comfortable working with Operations and GMs at warehouses. Must have experience working in environments with over 3000+ employees.
