Responsibilities
Construction Management
Manage the planning, execution, and completion of the assigned construction project. Ensure the assigned project adheres to schedule, budget and quality standards. Ensure all permit and community obligations are achieved. Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, community leaders and other stakeholders. Implement and monitor construction best practices, safety protocols and regulatory compliance. Ensure all contractual owner obligations are completed. Monitor document management processes and confirm compliance with process.
Procurement
Manage procurement activities to ensure timely acquisition of material, equipment and labor. Negotiate contracts and agreements with contractors, suppliers and vendors. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies as required.
Project Oversight
With full time onsite presence, manage all aspects of project progress and performance. Provide regular reporting to all stakeholders. Identify and mitigate risks and issues impacting project delivery. Ensure effective coordination between construction and procurement activities. Resolve any conflicts or challenges that arise during project execution. Maintain a firm working knowledge of the contract documents, project schedules, project reports, communication records, design specifications, meeting agendas, minutes and status reports.
Cost Management
Develop and manage budgets for construction and procurement activities during the execution phase of each project. Monitor expenditures and ensure cost control measures are implemented. Provide financial reporting to senior management as required. Implement and oversee the Change Management process.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management and procurement, preferably in the energy sector. Proven track record of successfully managing large scale construction projects. Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract management. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage all aspects of a multi-billion dollar project and work under pressure. Knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
