Position Summary: The Sit-Down Forklift Operator is responsible for moving, locating, stacking, and loading/unloading materials within the warehouse environment using sit-down counterbalance forklifts. This role supports efficient receiving, storage, and outbound shipment processes while upholding strict safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate sit-down counterbalance forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve product and materials in the warehouse. Load and unload goods from trailers, trucks, and containers using appropriate material handling equipment. Verify quantities and inspect for damage upon receipt and before shipment; report discrepancies. Maintain organized, safe, and clean work areas; adhere to 5S principles. Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as directed. Prepare outbound orders for shipment, ensuring accurate labeling and routing. Use pallet jacks, shrink wrap, and other equipment as needed to secure loads. Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and forklift safety protocols. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervision promptly. Collaborate with supervisors, drivers, and warehouse staff to meet daily productivity and quality targets. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Qualifications:

Valid forklift operator certification for sit-down counterbalance forklift (required or able to obtain prior to starting). High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior forklift operation experience in a warehouse/distribution setting is preferred. Basic math and reading comprehension skills to perform measurements, count accurately, and read labels/instructions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily productivity goals. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and maneuver for extended periods; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as needed. Basic computer literacy for inventory and shipment documentation. Physical Demands:

Frequent operation of a sit-down forklift; occasional climbing and descending from equipment. Prolonged standing, walking, and manual material handling. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures. Work Environment:

Warehouse environment with typical industrial noise levels. Exposure to dust, chemicals used in cleaning and maintenance, and varying temperatures depending on season.
