Opelousas General Hospital
The Storeroom Clerk, under the supervision of the Storeroom Supervisor, is responsible for receiving and filling departmental orders for stock items inventoried in the Storeroom.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Fills routine and emergency orders and delivers to appropriate department. • Stocks shelves and rotates stock items, taking note of any listed expiration dates so as to keep all products current and up-to-date. • Assists Inventory Control Clerk by noting stock items that are approaching the reorder point. • Assists Receiving Clerk in keeping Warehouse/Storeroom clean and safe. • Assists Receiving Clerk in properly receiving merchandise. • Responsible for maintaining par-level assigned on Nursing Units. • Responsible for labeling supplies received before putting on shelf. • Responsible for maintaining supplies in the Omnicell cabinet. • Assists Courier when needed. • Must handle sterile supplies with care to maintain sterility.
Education : High School Diploma/GED required.
Additional Experience Preferred
Must be well organized with attention to detail and stable work habits. Personal contact with all levels of hospital personnel, requires a person with pleasant personality, tactful approach, and a willingness to accomplish the job in a cheerful and helpful attitude.
