RESPONSIBILITIES:

MATERIALS & PROCESSES Review incoming lab requests, determine test requirements and assign appropriate charge number. Independently set-up and operate all lab equipment including: precision gauging equipment, microhardness, rockwell hardness, tensile testing, emission spectroscopy, and laboratory heat treating. Utilize precision gauging equipment, micrometers, dial indicators, surface plate, and microscopes. Perform post test analysis and prepare test reports based on specification requirements. Demonstrate a working knowledge of materials & processes specifications.

DYNAMICS Devise, improvise, set-up and trouble shoot digital sine/random, shock test equipment including: accelerometer hook ups, centrifuge, oscilloscopes, hookups, oscillographs and x-y plotters. Perform post test disassembly and assist in analysis. Interpret comprehensive data and prepare accurate activity reports on which decisions will be based. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mil-Std-810 with respect to dynamic testing. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of electronics, and environmental testing of fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic component parts.

ELECTRONIC Devise, improvise, and trouble shoot electronic circuits and instrumentation set-ups including oscilloscopes, oscillographs, x-y recorders, and other standard lab equipment. Demonstrated ability to proficiently set-up and operate data acquisition computers, process control systems, micro processor applications, and automatic test equipment. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of electronic principles.

MECHANICAL Assemble component parts based on assembly drawings. Independently fabricate, design, set-up and trouble shoot experimental or limited run assembly and/or test activities on complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and limited electronic set-ups. Projects are highly technical presenting new processes and changing requirements. Interpret acceptance, qualification and R & D test procedures. Perform engineering, development, and quality tests, data acquisition reduction, post test disassembly and assist in analysis. Demonstrate ability to operate lab equipment including: recording oscillographs, oscilloscopes, flow measuring equipment, and computerized test systems where applicable.

CALIBRATION Performs calibration on various types of semi-complex and complex electronic measuring and test equipment (M&TE). Demonstrates ability to proficiently set-up complex calibration test conditions interpreting calibration procedures, engineering specifications, schematics, or related documents. Documents and evaluates historical data to determine calibration intervals. Diagnoses, develops calibration procedures, and calibrates newly acquired M&TE. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of electronic principles and calibration requirements per National and International Standards.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT Performs technical maintenance on a variety of moderately complex to complex hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel or electronic systems and components. Plans and coordinates investigations into customer reports of technical product or service problems. Reviews performance trends, reports and documentation regarding malfunctioning or damaged products. Recommends and may provide on-site technical assistance to repair, replace or take other corrective actions; may perform rework or inspection of ***'s fielded hardware. Maintains and analyzes detailed performance and maintenance service records.
