Overview

Automation Technician - Maintenance focus for production use of robotic and automated manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include installation/commissioning/repair of associated equipment and collaboration with engineering, operations, vendors (OEM and integrators), and all internal departments. The role functions as part of the maintenance team, supporting equipment and facility activities and applying/optimizing robotic and automation systems. Responsibilities Collaborate with internal departments to evaluate and select/propose automation solutions throughout the facility. Assist in setup and commissioning of new equipment. Program equipment to execute operational functionality at a part number specific level. Diagnose/modify control logic in industrial robotic systems to optimize equipment operation. Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment. Troubleshoot malfunctions of equipment, electrical control units and systems. Install, test and repair electrical components. Align, adjust and calibrate control components. Document processes and create procedures & work instructions. Maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests. Train operators in use of equipment. Perform plant engineering and maintenance functions as assigned.

Qualifications

Technical or Associate degree (AA) in electrical/electronics technology, industrial robotics/automation is desired. 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of, and working experience with, industrial automation is required. Specific training or experience with Fanuc and Kawasaki robotic systems; Fanuc Roboguide is a plus. Understanding of electrical schematics and industrial codes and standards. Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers. Written report writing and communication, general understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
