We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of accounting and financial management. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, while also serving as a strategic partner to leadership in guiding business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a proven ability to lead teams, and prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting and Analysis ⢠Oversee all accounting operations, including the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory and Cost Accounting.
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Prepare detailed financial reports, management dashboards, and analyses for the executive team, including performance against budget, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Conduct in-depth variance analysis on revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), operating expenses, and inventory. Maintain proper accrual and timely reporting of all active corporate rebate and royalty programs Cost accounting and operational efficiency Analyze and report on production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to identify areas for cost reduction, process improvement, and margin enhancement. Manage and oversee the valuation, reconciliation, and integrity of inventory across raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to optimize inventory levels, improve forecasting accuracy, and streamline manufacturing processes from a financial perspective.
Budgeting, forecasting, and strategic support Oversee annual budgeting process and develop rolling financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads. Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts and manage working capital effectively. Provide financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives, capital expenditure decisions, new product launches, and pricing strategies. Internal controls and compliance Establish, implement, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. Manage external audit processes, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax through our various partners. Oversee debt covenant compliance and reporting as required by financing agreements.
Additional desired attributes: 6+ years of professional experience, ideally with a combination of public accounting and private industry experience
Experienced in a manufacturing environment and has prior experience in Cost Accounting Curiosity of manufacturing process desired
3+ years' recent experience in finance leadership roles Current or prior experience working for a privately held company Experience managing a team of 4+ finance staff Strong ERP and Excel skills Collaborative, confident team builder Outstanding time management and organizational skills. CPA or CMA preferred Experience with Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems a plus
