Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
High school diploma or GED required. Must have PLC, Electrical, Fanuc Robot, Mechanical experience & the ability to read electrical blueprints. Must have the ability to learn Automation systems, assembly processes, machining, air, & hydraulic processes. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer experience is required. Basic electrical knowledge is needed. Welding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication experience is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting automation projects for all TM locations globally as required.
Travel requirements may be up to 30% per year including international travel.
Responsible for machining parts for automation systems.
Responsible for assembly of new automation systems.
Responsible for the generation of cost saving opportunities related to automation and the presentation of this to management on a regular basis.
Coordinates automation activities with outside suppliers.
Manages time schedule to meet the production schedule needs on new automation machines.
Responsible for procurement of purchase parts as needed for system builds.
Assists in production start-ups as related to automation machines.
Ability to make parts in a lathe & milling machine.
