The Role

The Operating Room (OR) Charge Nurse supports the mission and values of the Panorama Eye Care family of facilities by supervising the daily operation of the ASC OR and the OR staff. The candidate may provide direct and indirect patient care to facilitate coverage as needed. The ideal candidate for this position utilizes strong leadership skills and interpersonal relationships to uphold and ensure a positive impact on the ASC patients, staff and doctors during their surgical experience. Facilitates the daily operation of the operating room. Reviews daily the proposed OR schedule. Determines supplies and instrumentation needs for all surgeons/surgeries and ensures they are on hand. Maintains all OR equipment and communicates to Director of Nursing . Ensures adherence to policies and procedures/helps maintain and update all ASC policies and procedures. Assists in all areas of Quality Management. Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism and overtime scheduling. Evaluates and monitors staff costs to ensure appropriate staff utilization. Lead employees to meet the mission statement for productivity, quality and goal accomplishment. Provides effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards and disciplinary action, with the assistance of HR and the Director of Nursing when necessary. Performs staff evaluations and maintains up to date evaluations. Provides regular input on ways to improve customer service, decrease operating costs and improve efficiency. Complete understanding of the sterilization process and current standards (AAMI, AORN and IAHCSMM) International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management. Maintains knowledge of AORN standards and keeps the OR in compliance with all the current standards. Works with DON and Practice Management to assure that staff competency is maintained and up to date with present protocols in addition to new procedures and technology in our facility. Reviews time keeping system to revise time punches and PTO allotment at the end of each pay period. Ensures the ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and/or when working with a difficult patient, staff member or Doctor. Strong knowledge of Ophthalmology and Surgery with the ability to engage in new technology and incorporate in our current practices. Assists in training/preceptorship of all new staff members. Serves as a role model and mentor to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues throughout the change process. Interviews candidates and make selections for department positions. Communication

Listens respectfully, gives feedback directly, honestly and talks with others to clarify differences. Utilizes translation services when needed. Utilizes appropriate services when needed to communicate with employees and patients with speech and hearing disorders. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, their family, and other external and internal clients (including fellow employees) from diverse backgrounds. Quality

Demonstrates a willingness to look at ideas and work in a changing environment. Understands, verbalizes and participates in the quality improvement process. Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance. Works with the Director of Nursing and Administrator, ASC to develop Policy and Procedures in compliance with regulations, standards, and change related to the OR environment processes. Requirements

Job Requirements

Who You Are

Three to five years of experience working in an OR. Two to five years of OR supervisory or managerial experience preferred. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required. Additional Job Details

Works at our ASC location, Precision. This is a Full-Time Position. Compensation for this role will be $43.36-49.38/hour an hour based on experience. Our Growth Opportunities
