Job Summary:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments of materials, supplies, or products. This role ensures that all deliveries are properly accounted for, checked for quality and accuracy, and entered into inventory systems. The Receiving Clerk works closely with purchasing, inventory, and warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock levels and support smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders, packing slips, or invoices
Inspect deliveries for damage, discrepancies, or missing items and report issues promptly
Accurately document and record incoming goods in inventory or warehouse management systems
Label and tag items appropriately before storing or forwarding to the appropriate department
Coordinate with vendors, drivers, and internal departments to resolve delivery or order issues
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized receiving area
Prepare and stage received goods for storage or production
Follow company safety and security procedures during all receiving activities
Support inventory counts and reconciliation as needed
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment (if certified) Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics environment preferred
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software or ERP systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs])
Good communication and teamwork skills
Forklift certification a plus (if applicable)
Must be able to work Saturday rotations
