Water Department Supervisor
will report into the Facility-Maintenance Department and will manage the company’s water infrastructure, waste distribution system, and equipment in an operating and functional condition. Duties include but are not limited to water repairs and installations of water/waste systems. The role will oversee and maintain company required and state mandated water certifications and licenses. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent. Responsibilities
Responsible for the treatment and operation of water collection, storage, treatment, and distribution systems to include wells, tanks, valves, pumps, controls and chemical injection systems. Review Task Hazard Assessments (THA's) prior to assigned duties and follow Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials. Responsible for work accomplished in accordance with compliance of state permit(s). Ensure all samples are collected in accordance with State Permits and compile all necessary reports to remain in compliance with drinking water and wastewater standards. Work in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, procedures and policies are met, and the project is completed efficiently. Provide adequate services to ensure that all water and waste systems are installed, repaired, and maintained to meet building codes safely. Maintain records of time and materials used on jobs and ensure job orders are complete. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of water infrastructure and waste distribution systems. Work under general supervision from various guidance including oral instructions, preventive maintenance program plans, work orders, and blueprints. Ensure work is performed based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules. Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, and meeting completion dates. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. Required Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance Seven (7) years of water treatment/wastewater experience Two (2) years in a supervisory role Must have Nevada state Treatment 4 certification, Distribution 2 certification, Wastewater 1. Certifications with reciprocity agreements in other states may qualify. Must be able to obtain and maintain Backflow Tester Certification within six (6) months of starting Must be willing/able to be trained to operate forklift/fork truck or material handling lifting devices Able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts Must possess a valid Driver’s License Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated problem-solving skills Must possess strong time management skills Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds The work requires physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing in industrial or ship/weapon facility environments The ability to operate heavy machinery and industrial tools with limited supervision, including Electric/Diesel Forklift, CNC Milling Machine, Welding/Soldering, CAT III Overhead Crane, pallet jack, and other equipment INDUS is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
