HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Maryville, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/24/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry Location: 6800 State Route 162, Maryville, IL 62062-8500 Shift: Days | 3x12-Hour (07:00 – 19:30) Unit: 3rd Med Surg (10 private rooms 1 observation bed) Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RN to join the 3rd Medical Unit, providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse acute and chronic medical conditions. The RN will manage telemetry monitoring, post-surgical care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience License: Active RN license in IL (or compact state) Certifications: BLS (AHA) required Float: Required to 2 other Med Surg units Weekends: Every 2nd to 3rd weekend Preferred: Previous charge RN experience Skills & Competencies: Telemetry monitoring & dysrhythmia interpretation Management of post-surgical and medical patients (CVA, COPD, renal disease, diabetes, pneumonia, cellulitis, COVID) Blood product administration IV starts, PICC & peripheral line management Pre/Post neuro & surgical patient care (including ortho, GU, GI procedures) Chest tubes, surgical drains, and wound vac management Use of Rapid Response Teams & isolation precautions Colostomy and feeding tube management Oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, mask, portable tanks) Equipment & Systems: Medication System: Pyxis Communication: SBAR Special Equipment: Bladder scanner, Safe Patient Handling Equipment Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics Telemetry monitoring: up to 4 patients with stable dysrhythmias Scrub Color: Navy Blue Accepts First-Time Travelers: ✅ Yes About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) , proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs .
