Job Description This role is field-based and candidates should live in the territory. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. The geography covers North of Indianapolis, including Muncie, Kokomo, Lafayette, Greenfield and surrounding areas. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage sales performance, effectively manage the assigned territory and target accounts, build strong customer relationships, and prioritize patients in all efforts while operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, and other responsibilities to meet or exceed those objectives. Create a pre‑call plan using SMART objectives, execute a post‑call evaluation, and continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, concerns, and consistently gain logical and reasonable calls to action to close every sales call. Proactively and continuously serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers. Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities. Continuously build understanding of customer needs and expectations, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share this market intelligence with in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager to achieve alignment, anticipate environmental changes, and optimize brand strategy and execution. Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers assigned and identify, develop, and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business‑related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five (5) years of experience, with at least three (3) years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry, and a high school diploma/GED required. Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills; proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts quickly. Influences others and is viewed as a credible role model and resource among peers; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team. Documented success in leadership and support roles with increased responsibility at district, region, and/or organizational levels. Preferred: Proven track record of sales performance within the therapeutic area; experience in physician/account‑based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing within the commercial pharmaceutical industry. English language proficiency, verbal and written. Must satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations within the assigned territory. Demonstrates in‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
