Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Manassas, VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
•5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments
•Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
•Experience with machine design, equipment installation, and material handling
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
•Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Design and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling
•Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout
•Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, and other functions that affect product performance
•Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
•Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
•Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality
•Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques
•Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, and implement robotic automation solutions as needed
•Program and integrate industrial robots (such as Fanuc and Epson) with existing manufacturing systems, utilizing PLC programming expertise
•Optimize and maintain automated production lines to ensure maximum uptime and throughput, while maintaining high-quality standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
•Experience with robotics and automation, including programming and integration of industrial robots
•PLC programming expertise
•Knowledge of statistical process control and lean manufacturing principles
•Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or •Statistical Process Control (SPC)

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
•Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

WORK HOURS:
•Full-Time
•4/10 or 5/40 work schedule ( depends on need)
•2nd Shift
