Chief, Division of Neonatology
The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seek a Chief for our Division of Neonatology, qualified for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice at WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Duties
Lead a team of 11 neonatal faculty providing care in a Level IV NICU and supporting four regional Level II/III nurseries, and a NICU follow‑up clinic.
Provide excellent patient care; collaborate with other pediatric subspecialists.
Actively teach medical students, residents, and fellows; supervise neonatal advanced practice providers.
Improve neonatal care through quality improvement or research initiatives.
Demonstrate success in faculty development, division operations, and strategic program growth.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
Eligible for state medical licensure.
Completed accredited pediatrics residency and neonatal fellowship programs.
Board‑certified in neonatology.
Evidence of prior leadership experience (director‑level role, program leadership, or committee leadership).
Practice Site WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital: a new 150‑bed facility opened in 2022, including 52 NICU beds, adjacent 30‑bed birthing center, and dedicated pediatric and cardiac services. Additional facilities include 34 pediatric beds, 26 PICU beds, and dedicated Cancer and Heart Centers. The hospital is a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to advance to Level I.
Successful candidate may also provide services at other hospitals in the WVU Health System, including Mon Health Medical Center and Wheeling Hospital; travel may be required.
