Come Join an Inclusive Team The Global Automation Manager, reporting to the Director of APS Centers of Excellence, will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the APS Automation Strategy. This position leads the strategic development, deployment, and continuous improvement of automation solutions across global operations.
With a scope spanning all 56 sites worldwide, the role is responsible for identifying high-impact automation opportunities, managing cross‑functional implementation teams, and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. Key technologies include Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML), all leveraged to drive efficiency, scalability, and innovation.
The target is to automate 25% to 30% of the work in the next 7 to 10 years.
A Day in the Life Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute global automation strategies aligned with business objectives.
Lead cross‑functional teams in the design, deployment, and maintenance of automation solutions.
Collaborate with regional leaders to ensure consistent automation practices across sites.
Project Management
Develop the Capex and Opex LRPs for automation.
Oversee the full lifecycle of automation projects—from ideation to deployment and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal governance.
Technical Oversight
Design and implement automation systems for manufacturing, business processes, and IT operations.
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., RPA, AI, ML, SCADA, PLC).
Maintain documentation including process maps, technical specs, and training materials.
Performance & Optimization
Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Develop KPIs and dashboards to track automation impact.
Conduct regular audits and ensure systems meet quality and safety standards.
Training & Change Management
Provide training and support to global teams on automation tools and processes.
Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
You Bring This Value Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Certifications in automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere) and project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are preferred.
Experience
7–10 years in automation, engineering, or digital transformation roles.
Proven experience managing global or multi‑site automation projects.
Strong understanding of RPA, AI, ML, and industrial automation systems.
Skills
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Proficiency in tools like SQL, Python, Excel, and visualization platforms.
Familiarity with service virtualization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
