Job Summary Employee’s primary job duty shall be to provide direct patient care at the Assigned Location or at any other clinic site as assigned by the Division Chief based on patient needs and business objectives of the University. Clinic and procedure volumes are expected to align with divisional productivity standards. The employee’s regular schedule will include 4-hour session lengths, consisting of three in-person direct patient care sessions and five procedure sessions per week. The employee will also be scheduled for ten Saturday clinics annually, each made up of two consecutive 4-hour sessions. This position does not carry any call responsibilities. Qualifications

Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of California

Must be board certified in Gastroenterology

Must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

Must provide Residency Diploma

Must have expertise in general gastroenterology and diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy

Working knowledge of applicable State and Federal law, including laws and regulations related to privacy and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills to analyze needs, establishing priorities and provide appropriate medical care and medical services.

Computer and keyboarding skills to use Electronic Medical Record software programs. Ability to learn and use information systems as they apply to clinical practice.

Knowledge or proficiency in University and UCDH policies and procedures.

Knowledge of Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinic practice management philosophies
