Position Overview
Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals Neurosurgery, St. Joseph is seeking a passionate and skilled Neurosurgeon to join our dedicated team in southwest Michigan. This is a full‑time, hospital‑employed opportunity offering an excellent compensation plan. Team includes two exceptional neurosurgeons and three experienced advanced practitioners. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible. General neurosurgery practice with approximately 75% spine and 25% brain. Flexible clinic and OR schedule roughly split evenly.
Access to 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist programs at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, which is a Level III Trauma center. Neurohospitalist & Neurointerventional services available. Great opportunity to interact with residents and medical students. Epic EHR. You will also enjoy access to the da Vinci Xi robotic system for minimally invasive surgery and to the O‑arm surgical imaging system.
Hospital Overview Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, with more than 250 beds, offers a state‑of‑the‑art facility that has recently added the Medical Pavilion—a multi‑million‑dollar expansion providing more than 260,000 square feet of new space for inpatient and ambulatory services. The newly renovated emergency department contains 34 patient beds, 12 observation beds, and additional treatment areas for the more than 45,000 patients we see each year. Corewell Health is a teaching hospital offering residencies in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine, and hosts 3rd‑ and 4th‑year medical students from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Central Michigan University College of Medicine.
